My family’s schedule, like so many other families, is jam packed in the afternoons. We are constantly rushing around making sure that all homework is completed, reading is done, chores are taken care of, and the kids are fed something healthy before we are headed off to a baseball game or practice for the remainder of the night.

I’ve often talked about easy meals that I can make for my family so that we aren’t tempted to go through a drive-thru. Well, our afternoon snacks are just as essential. When my kids get home after school they are ravenous! I like after school snacking options that are easy.

Lately our baseball schedule has us heading back out the door at 5:30pm. That’s cutting right into their dinner time. Some days I have a chance to pick up a sandwich at the grocery store or I’m even so prepared that my kids make their own pizzas, but that is not the norm.

When I don’t have time to prepare for the starving men in my house, I like to keep healthier options in my freezer that I can go to for a last minute satisfying option.
